Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Fellowship

Deadline:
November 14, 2008
Agency:
MRC/ESRC

The MRC and ESRC joint research studentships and postdoctoral fellowship scheme has been developed to fund interdisciplinary research students and postdoctoral fellows whose research is of interest to both councils and which requires the combined approaches of both the medical and social sciences. Proposals to this scheme must address the interests of both the MRC and the ESRC and must be genuinely interdisciplinary in approach. Applicants should ensure their proposal engages with MRC’s strategic priorities and ESRC’s Research Challenges. The purpose of an MRC/ESRC postdoctoral fellowship is to provide an opportunity to undertake limited new research (not exceeding 25% time and cost of the fellowship) and/or additional research linked to the PhD, produce publications, disseminate research findings and gain additional research related skills and training.
