The Clinician Scientist program has two phases. Phase 1 provides stipends for up to 6 years of training support (initial 3-year award and possible 3-year renewal). Phase 2 provides a contribution to the salary of the recipient for up to six years (initial 3-year award and possible 3-year renewal). Applications to Phase 2 are restricted to current holders of Phase 1 awards.
This program (Phase 2) is designed to provide outstanding Clinician Scientists the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their independence in initiating and conducting health research through provision of a contribution to their salary.
