To this end, the LOF offers universities the opportunity to: Deadline: June 15, 2010 Details: Ichikizaki Fund for Young ChemistsAgency: CSC This grant provides financial assistance to young chemists who are showing unique achievements in basic research by facilitating their participation in international conferences or symposia. The maximum value for a single award is $10,000, however, applicants may re-apply in subsequent years, provided the cumulative total of all awards does not exceed $15,000. Deadline: December 31, 2009 Details: Small Initiative FundAgency: CBCF This program provides funding for small scale community initiatives in breast cancer and breast health education and awareness. Requests for up to $5,000 are accepted on an on-going basis. Details: Global Collaboration FundAgency: Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute Research at VCHRI would benefit from extended collaborative relationships with investigators at research organizations outside of Vancouver. In order to build these relationships, VCHRI will provide funds for P.I.s or member(s) of their team to visit their collaborators for an extended period of time. Alternatively, our investigators could invite a member of the partner team to visit Vancouver. It recognizes the need to create better opportunities for Canadian researchers to lead and participate in international collaborative research. The policy also addresses the importance of promoting the distinctive contribution that Canadian social sciences and humanities research can make to international research agendas and to better understanding of major global issues. Accordingly, the International Opportunities Fund (IOF) program will help researchers develop, participate in, and lead diverse international collaborative research activities.
