Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) and NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS) provide financial support to high-calibre scholars who are engaged in master’s or doctoral programs in the natural sciences or engineering. The CGS will be offered to the top-ranked applicants at each level (master’s and doctoral) and the next tier of meritorious applicants will be offered an NSERC PGS. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies and seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields. NSERC encourages interested and qualified Aboriginal students to apply.

Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) supports research in developing countries to promote growth and development. The result is innovative, lasting local solutions that aim to bring choice and change to those who need it most. IDRC’s Climate Change and Water Program (CCW) helps developing country researchers to understand the consequences of climate change on water resources and to find ways to improve the ability of citizens and governments to adapt to the changing environment.
The purpose of CCW’s Adaptation H2O Graduate Research Awards is to build the research capacity in developing countries by providing awards to graduate students working on subjects related to climate change and water.

The Bentley Cropping Systems Fellowship

The goal of the AllerGen Emerging Clinician-Scientist Research Fellowship is to enable Canadian Clinical Immunologists and Allergists to pursue allergy, asthma and/or anaphylaxis academic research training immediately following their Clinical Immunology and Allergy sub-specialty training in order to:
• Strengthen the academic capacity of Canadian Clinical Immunology and Allergy sub-specialists
• Increase Canadian capacity for translational Clinical Immunology and Allergy research

The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Foundation is pleased to announce one two-year fellowship to support training in clinical practice research, which is defined as "clinical research that evaluates translation of evidence into best clinical practice." This may include evaluation of health services, quality of care, and implementation of proven therapies, physician performance, or patient adherence. The fellowship is intended to create unique training opportunities, previously difficult to access for neurologists. The fellowship is supported by the AAN and the AAN Foundation.

2011 Clinical Research Training Fellowship in Headache

The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Foundation is pleased to announce a two-year fellowship to support clinical research training in the field of headache. Each fellowship will consist of a commitment of $55,000 per year for two years, plus $10,000 per year for tuition to support formal education in clinical research methodology at the applicant’s institution or elsewhere. Supplementation of the stipend with other grants or by the fellowship institution is permissible, but fellows may not accept other fellowships, similar awards, or have another source of support for more than 50 percent of their research salary while holding an AAN Foundation Clinical Research Training Fellowship. Only direct costs will be funded by this award.
