BCRF-AACR Grants for Translational Breast Cancer Research

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation-AACR Grants for Translational Breast Cancer Research were established in 2007 to provide support for innovative cancer research projects designed to accelerate the discovery, development, and application of new agents to treat breast cancer and/or for pre-clinical research with direct therapeutic intent.
It is anticipated that two grants of up to $200,000 each will be awarded.

AACR Gertrude B. Elion Cancer Research Award

The AACR Gertrude B. Elion Cancer Research Award is open to tenure-track scientists at the level of Assistant Professor, who completed postdoctoral studies or clinical fellowships no more than five years prior to the start of the grant term. It provides a one-year grant of $50,000 for salary and benefits, supplies, equipment, and limited travel for the grant recipient. Projects may focus on research in cancer etiology, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention (basic, translational, or clinical cancer research).

Steve Bonk Scholarship

In recognition of Steve Bonk’s guidance and development of CWWA and his roles as leader and ambassador of the water and wastewater sectors, a scholarship in his name was established by CWWA in 1995. The scholarship is intended to provide educational assistance to those embarking on careers associated with municipal water supply or wastewater. The scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually.

Canada Graduate Scholarships – Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements Program

Supplements of up to $6,000 will be awarded as a scholarship to active CGS-Master’s or Doctorate or Vanier CGS holders to help offset the costs, including travel and accommodation, of undertaking research studies outside Canada for a defined period. For the purposes of this program, a study period is defined as being no less than three months and no more than six. A total of 250 awards are available each year. They will be divided among the three granting councils and will reflect the distributions of CGS and Vanier CGS across the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health-related disciplines.

IMPART Fellowship

The IMPART research training program provides research training awards to highly qualified individuals pursuing a research career in addictions research with a particular focus on gender, women and addictions. Awards consist of a time-limited stipend and a research/travel allowance for graduate students studying at the Masters and Doctoral level; and for Postdoctoral Fellows and Clinician Researchers. This innovative, multidisciplinary research training program is designed to equip health researchers from across disciplines, sectors and settings to conduct gender- and sex-based analyses in addictions research with a focus on the intersections of addictions with violence, trauma and mental health.

Environment Canada Atmospheric and Meteorological Graduate Supplements
