Judith Graham Pool Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Research Fellowship

The Governing Body of Magdalene College expects to elect two stipendiary Research Fellows with tenure for three years from 1 October 2010 (the Nevile Fellowship, endowed through the generosity of Trinity College, will be in the Sciences; the Lumley Fellowship, endowed through the generosity of H. R. L. Lumley, will be in the Humanities). Applications are invited from graduates, male or female, from any university. Candidates should normally have completed two or three years of research and may have written a Ph.D. dissertation.

The Lady Davis Fellowship Trust

Fellowships for Graduate Studies are available to students from abroad. The Fellowship includes a monthly stipend ranging from $750 (for M.Sc. students) to $1000 (for Ph.D. students) and one return ticket (tourist class) from their home town to Israel and back. Payments are made in Israeli Shekels and linked to the representative rate of exchange Graduate fellowships are granted initially for one semester or one year with the possibility of extension, for the duration of degree requirements, subject to the necessary recommendations.

STRI Short Term/ Stanley Rand Fellowship

Postdoctoral Fellowships at one of the Institute’s four collaborating universities: University of British Columbia, University of Northern British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, and the University of Victoria. Fellowships are valued at up to $50,000 per year.

Clinical Research Fellowship

Faculty Research Visit Grant

AACR-FNAB Fellows Grant for Translational Pancreatic Cancer Research

This is a one-year grant of $35,000. Research projects are restricted to translational pancreatic cancer research that includes the use of human tissue and has implications for therapeutic application and individualized medicine. Proposed research must have implications for individualized cancer treatment and must make use of human biopsies or samples, such as needle biopsies or circulating cancer cells. In vivo primary tumor explants meet these criteria, but xenografts from established cell lines do not. One grant will be awarded this cycle.

AACR-Colorectal Cancer Coalition Fellows Grant, in memory of Lisa Dubow

Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship

Lichtenberg Professorships

The “Lichtenberg Professorships“ are designed to combine support for both persons as well as institutions. The Volkswagen Foundation will provide support to outstandingly qualified (junior) academics in connection with innovative fields of research located between the disciplines as well as new teaching concepts within the respective research environment. The funding which will be made available for a period of up to eight years is expected to pave an interesting new path in higher education and research. On the one hand, young scholars will be offered a future perspective on a kind of “tenure- track”, and on the other hand institutions will gain a better basis for planning – both from a strategic point of view with respect to content as well as concerning personnel planning.
