Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) and NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS) provide financial support to high-calibre scholars who are engaged in masters or doctoral programs in the natural sciences or engineering. The CGS will be offered to the top-ranked applicants at each level (master’s and doctoral) and the next tier of meritorious applicants will be offered an NSERC PGS. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies and seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields. NSERC encourages interested and qualified Aboriginal students to apply.
Application deadline through a Canadian university is set by the university.

Canada-United Kingdom Millennium Research Awards

Canadian L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Postgraduate Scholarship Supplements

Created in 1998, the international L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science program aims to improve the position of women in science by recognizing outstanding women researchers who have contributed to scientific progress, and young women scientists engaged in exemplary and promising projects. As an extension of this program, L’Oréal Canada, in collaboration with the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, will offer two postgraduate scholarship supplements to young Canadian women scientists involved in promising research projects. In addition, the objective is to create a network of women who will act as role models to younger generations within the framework of a Canadian mentorship program for girls in science developed by L’Oréal Canada.
