The placements are based at the Institute for Work & Health and generally will be for 12 weeks. This is negotiable, depending on academic expectations. Students will work with and be supervised by one of our scientists on a project-based assignment. We will provide students with a stipend, workspace, library access, computer and software needed for their project. We offer a multidisciplinary work environment, and students are invited to take part in regular Institute activities such as team or project meetings, journal clubs, educational sessions and plenaries. Leonard Syme’s contributions to the growth and development of the Institute for Work & Health as chair of its Scientific Advisory Committee (1995-2002), the Institute has established a research training fellowship program in his name. The fellowships are for young researchers at the master’s or doctoral level intending to study work and health. The Institute is particularly interested in candidates who show a commitment to research that promises to reduce work-related injury, illness and disability in Ontario. |
