RFP: Analogue Missions for the Canadian Space Agency

Agency:
GETS

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to obtain "Professional and Research and Development Services" from Canadian universities, companies and not-for-profit organizations, to plan and execute Analogue Missions. Analogue missions are simulations of space mission operations that take place at analogue sites on Earth; these can also be thought of as integrated field tests. A terrestrial analogue site resembles in some key way (e.g. geomorphologically or geochemically) a surface or subsurface environment of another planet. Herein, Analogue Mission can be defined as an integrated set of activities that represent (or simulate) entire mission designs or narrowly focus on specific aspects of planned or potential future planetary exploration missions.

Salary may be included as co-funding. However, in an instance where two projects are of equal scientific merit but one has salary co-funding and the other cash co-funding, the project with cash co-funding will be ranked higher. In-kind contributions will be recognised but will not replace the requirement for additional co-funding input. All Research Grants awarded in the 2010/2011 grants round will be of three years duration.
