Harold R. Roberts Haemophilia Award

Access to Insight Scholarship

The Access to Insight scholarship supports training in haemophilia and other haemostatic disorders at an approved Haemophilia Treatment Center, and should be taken for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months. The scholarship is awarded at a rate of € 70,000 per annum, pro rata and is to cover travel, accomodation and living costs.
The scholarship aims to help doctors with a minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in haematology and at least 1 year’s experience in haemostasis/haemophilia who have an interest in pursuing or strengthening their career as a haemostasis/haemophilia expert.

The new EXTRA fellowships are available to teams composed of two to four individuals who have completed professional training in any health discipline, including medical practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals, health managers and policy-makers. It is expected that recipients of EXTRA team fellowships will have completed their initial professional training in the last five to 15 years, have an ongoing commitment to the application of evidence in healthcare, and occupy leadership roles in their organizations. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network-AACR Pathway to Leadership Grant is designed to build future leaders in the pancreatic cancer research community by supporting promising early-career scientists in their postdoctoral positions through the transition to independence. MSFHR Research Trainee Program

The MSFHR Research Trainee Program, Post Doctoral Fellowship Awards, support highly qualified Post Doctoral trainees to prepare for careers as independent health researchers. All awards consist of an annual stipend and a research and travel allowance.
MSFHR is also partnering with Fonds de la recherché en santé du Québec (FRSQ) to offer an exchange program for researchers training at the postdoctoral level. The two organizations will jointly fund a limited number of awards enabling BC researchers to pursue postdoctoral training in Québec, and supporting Québec researchers to do the same in BC.

It will be awarded for the best running thesis of PhD student participating in the France-Canada joint PhD (cotutelle) program.The FCRF Scholarship for thesis cotutelles finances academic study visits in France (one round-trip airfare and monthly allowance) for a Canadian doctoral student enrolled in a thesis cotutelle program between a French institution and UBC, Uvic and SFU.

CFWH Awards, Fellowships and Grants

Bridge Program

The Bridge Program is a multidisciplinary graduate fellowship program whose goal is to develop creative evidence-based strategies to solve public, environmental and occupational health problems. The focus is on prevention of disease and injury (rather than medical care), using approaches that link the public health, engineering and policy realms. The Program provides funding to graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, visiting scholars and professionals, and brings them together with faculty mentors in an interactive environment.
