Sabbatical Month – Advanced Level Scientific Stay for Canadians in France

Agency:
ISTC

The Science and Technology Office (Scientific Service) is in charge of collaborations between French and Canadian higher education institutions in all domains of human knowledge, from the hard sciences to the humanities. The Scientific Service promotes partnerships based on the two core missions of higher education institutions: academic training and research. The spread of the knowledge-based economy and the respective interests of our societies place the Master’s and PhD levels at the top of priorities. Privileged disciplines are the in the hard sciences, engineering, economics, management, law and political science. Special attention is given to human sciences inasmuch as they allow to better ponder scientific development and to apprehend its societal significance. All conventions must include research components. The Scientific Service promotes partnerships to serve the best students, both in France and in Canada. At a time when universities are defining strategies and targeting specific partners in the context of their international agendas, the Scientific Service is at their disposal to facilitate structured collaborations in academic training and research and to make sure the most suited cooperation instruments are used. Such collaboration will pave the way for genuine lasting international partnerships.
