RFA - Economics of Patient Safety

Agency:
CPSI

The Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) together with Baxter and 3M have jointly identified the need to better understand the economics of patient safety. In particular, CPSI, Baxter and 3M wish to gain an evidence-informed sense of:
• the cost borne by the health system in Canada arising from adverse events and
• the economic value of programs which enhance the use of best practices and reduce unsafe practice – in clinics, large institutions and whole populations.
CPSI is requesting applications from research teams that will report on the economics of patient safety.
