Prevention Initiative – Modifiable risk factors and Conditions in Cancer PreventionAgency: National Cancer Institute of Canada The purpose of this funding initiative is to broaden the scope of currently funded investigations on cancer risk factors and accelerate understanding of and action around cancer prevention, potentially including the translation of that research knowledge. Through this funding initiative, the NCIC hopes to challenge researchers working across numerous disciplines and representing the full spectrum of health research to undertake work which will contribute to our understanding of risk factors and conditions related to a broad array of cancers. A central focus of this funding program and the reason for its prioritization by the Prevention Initiative Steering Committee is the requirement that investigators describe how an understanding of cancer risk factors and conditions will have an impact on lowering the incidence of cancer for Canadians. Deadline: September 2, 2008 Details: Last updated October 20, 2008 |
