Junior Investigator Grant Panel Travel BursaryAgency: NCIC The NCIC is pleased to announce a special initiative to allow junior investigators in cancer research to gain knowledge and understanding of the NCIC peer-review process. During the annual NCIC operating grants competition, approximately 500 applications spanning all disciplines of cancer research are evaluated and ranked for funding. A total of fifteen different grant panels in various cancer research disciplines are held on Mondays and Tuesdays for four consecutive weeks beginning January 19th 2009. Selected investigators from across Canada will be provided funds of up to $1,000 to reimburse travel costs to Toronto for two days to observe a particular session of grant reviews during which 3-4 panel meetings will occur. This unique opportunity will provide junior faculty members with an “inside look” at how research grants are reviewed in order to help structure their own grant proposals in future. Deadline: January 6, 2009 Details: Last updated December 18, 2008 |
