Energy Efficiency in the North American Water Supply Industry: A Compendium of Best Practices and Case Studies

The research will involve a comprehensive review of the literature, and correspondence with key stakeholders such as water supply operators, regulators, energy suppliers, academics, and manufacturers. The research team, through survey and case study development, will identify energy efficiency practices, processes and technologies associated with the design, construction, and operation of the water supply industry in North America. This will include energy recovery and generation, as well as energy efficiency associated with demand management and water loss control. This will also include practices associated with providing the requisite staff support and skills, and appropriate information technology necessary to optimize energy efficiency in the water supply industry.
